Haji Lane, Singapore

Haji Lane, the place where you should visit if you're sick of the malls.
It's basically a little street off the main Bugis area, with many lovely shops that sell everything from clothes to bicycle. You can find lots of quirky items with a reasonable price here.
There is also a few cafes if you just want to sit down, have a cup of coffee, and chat with your friends. :)

I love the minimalist packaging design!

After several hours of walking, we decided to stop by this cafe/bar to rest our feet before we headed off to more sightseeing.

These chairs ↑ may look tall in the photo, but it's a set of short-legged chairs in real life. Cuteee!!

Let's go upstairs!

Such a great place to chill out with a few friends, huh? Great service, excellent ambience. Too bad I didn't try their food so I have no idea how it tastes like. But I ordered their lemonade and it was good! :D

One of the reasons I visited this place was to take outfit shots in front of the wall art lol.

What I Wore: Top from Bangkok | Trench Coat from Japan | GOWIGASA Cream HW Skirt | Amble Footwear Shoes | H&M Brown Sling Bag

Well, I think this post didn't do justice to the place. I should've brought my DSLR or at least snapped more pictures!! The vintage dresses, the artsy interior design of each store, etc etc.
I guess I got too caught up in the moment. /sob

Anyway, if you want to visit Haji Lane, do so after 4pm. I heard from the taxi driver that the crowds come in around 5pm, thus most of the stores open around that time too. We reached there at 2pm and most of the stores were still closed during the hours we visited. When the taxi driver told us, I was like, "Ahhh that's why T___T"

But, if you want to take decent pictures then you should come at 2pm like I did! :D
When it's still bright and you will have less people staring at you, or worse, waiting for you to finish your "photo shoot session" with annoying face because they also want to take pictures of themselves! At your spot! And so you end up looking awkward or uncomfortable in your photos. #storyofmylife

Odango Hairstyle

What I Wore: Blue Polka Dot Tube Top from Haji Lane, Singapore | GOWIGASA Brick Red A-Line Candy Skirt | Trench Coat from Japan | White Olga Deandri Shoes | Forever21 Gold Chain Necklace

Hi! This is one of the outfits I wore for my Singapore trip last month and back when my hair was still brown (with ugly black roots, wtf). I was trying out this cute hairstyle called Odango (お団子); it is a reference to a Japanese dumpling, and is used to describe hairstyles in which the woman's hair is bound in spherical or nearly-spherical buns on her head. (credit: Wikimoon)

This is Dango, a Japanese dumpling made from mochiko (rice flour), related to mochi. (credit: Wikipedia)
To get this hairstyle, you just need to first create two pigtails using two hair ties (or rubber band) and then twist them and tie them into knots using another two hair ties. It's so simple, go try it yourself! :D

1N1D with Vodka the Frenchie

Introducing Vodka the French Bulldog to our blog! (lol it rhymes)
She's so cute, isn't she? Now, she ain't ours alrite, she belongs to Elle's bff Jane. But mommy Jane kindly gave us permission to kidnap this cutie pig pie for 1N1D lolll.

So, here are some photos of Vodka a.k.a Vodvod (even her nickname sounds fatty omgomg how could you Janeeeeee) upon her arrival:
"Who that?" asked Vodvod, observing Nicky curiously.
Smile!
Elle picked her up at 01 AM* after her meet-up with Jane and when she arrived home, Jess was ultra shocked cause the story she heard about Jane's dog making snore sounds all the time was 100% TRUE!! Like; walking *snores*, sniffing *snores*, running *snores*, and so on. Googled about that and got an instant confirmation here: "French Bulldog sounds. Because of their short face, most French Bulldogs snort, snuffle, wheeze, grunt, and snore loudly. The sounds are endearing to some people; nerve-wracking to others." -- well, it was definitely endearing to all of us who met her! ♡♡♡
*hence the title (1N1D instead of 1D1N)

Okay, gotta be honest that Frenchies might not be the prettiest, but some would surely agree that they ARE the FUNNIEST. Aside from their physical appearance that resembles a mixed breed of a cow, a rabbit, a dog and of course, a PIG, they make goofy poses like these:

 Good night! *grokkkkk*

The next morning:
*grokkk.....*
Awe, you still sleepy? *grok grok*

Well, fasten your seatbelt, Vodka, cause we're going to take you to our outfit photoshoot (yep, as a model, too)! XD
On Elle: UNIQLO Ultra Stretch Color Jeans | Plaid Shirt belongs to our brother ;)
GOWIGASA Dual Pocket Sleeveless Button Up in white, Rayray Sunglasses, NY Cap Blue, Denim Everyday Shoes (coming soon on our website)

On Jess: Shoes from Japan

So intoxicated by her cuteness, each of us decided to make a video with her too!

Finally, it was time to return her home. :'(
Thank you, Jane, for letting your baby stay over at our place! See you soon, Vodvod! *kisssssssssssssssses*
